Eating Animals is NOT our Nature

1. Early Days

Humans might have survived in wild 2 million years ago by killing a small animal here and there.
However, it doesn’t justify eating animals today.

Why do you still eat meat today pointing to the past. If you really want to live like an early human or other carnivores,
then I’m afraid you should not wear clothes, go to work, pay taxes, or use phones either.

Why should you? Early humans never paid taxes, did they?
They did not drive cars, did they?
They did not live in concrete jungles, did they?

This argument is as foolish as watering plants in the pouring rain.

Early humans did not go to supermarkets to buy their meat and berries. But you do. Why?

You want to pick only one convenient trait form the past to justify your actions of today?
You’re only cheating yourself and no one else with such reasons.

How does our past actions justify today’s decisions? What kind of logic is this?
We learn from our mistakes and create a better present and future don’t we?

Humans by nature are compassionate and empathetic towards all living beings.
Just think for a second:
What is the first thought you have when you hold a newborn baby?
Isn’t it “I better hold the baby with extra care”
Don’t you think the same when you hold a puppy?
Don’t you think the same when you hold a beautiful bird?

We experience this because we know that the creature in hand is precious, worthy of love and protection as it is weak and unable to protect itself.

Then how come all of this kindness vanishes when it comes to baby chickens, calves, and piglets?
Do these animals suddenly make you cruel and violent?

No.

2. The problem is Perception.

We associate a dog with a friend, a companion, worthy of love, compassion and certainly not edible.
How come we think of chicken, fish and cows as food.

Both are sentient animals worthy of love and respect.

The thing is, Speciesism makes us violent to one animal and protector of the other.

Speciesism, a term coined by Dr. Melanie Joy that makes us eat certain animals while simultaneously care for others as pets.

You eat chicken, beef, ribs with no remorse while your golden retriever waits for you (not so patiently) throw the animal bone you’re eating.

The stark contrast in this actions and the lack of realization is called Speciesism. We think of ourselves as morally oblivious to the fact that we’re literally eating 1 animal and petting the other.

Our nature is to protect the weak and not eat them.

This behavior of confronting and throwing random arguments in a decent conversation comes from denial.
We just don’t want to acknowledge the fact that our whole life was just on auto-pilot.
We never pose a question to any of our actions.
This is extremely hard to digest and unbelievably humiliating to do so, so we never accept it.
We just lie to ourselves and move everything under the carpet.

3. Analyze your thoughts and question your actions.

Where is it coming from? Is it from your genuine inquiry or you’re just living on auto-pilot.
Nothing about us the way we live is Natural at all.
We lead a very weak, wrong, corrupted lives while fully being aware of it.

We spend almost all our lives on auto-pilot and never stop to just inquire, Why?
“Why do I do what I do? Why should I live as I’m living?
Why this career, why this partner, why this this car?

Wake up Now and rage a War against yourself.

Question it and if you have a wee bit of honesty, you’ll find that you never wanted to be what you have become.
And It’s time to correct your goals, future and life.
